Pre-War Profession Lumber businessman, militia officer.
War Service May 1861 Col. of 1st Massachusetts, Blackburn's Ford, First Bull Run, Peninsula campaign, Seven Days, September 1862 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, Washington defences, Senate did not confirm promotion, March 1863 relieved of duty.
Post War Career Politician.
