Born February 25 1815, Loudoun Cty VA
Died February 18 1879, Columbus GA
Pre-War Profession Graduated West Point 1837, Capt. of Dragoons, Mexican War, army paymaster.
War Service 1861 Lt. Col. Adjutant and Inspector General's Dept., chief of staff to R E Lee, Brig. Gen. (confirmed February 1864 after 18 months), April 1864 relieved from duty at own request, Inspector general, May 1864 commanded near Richmond, Inspector general.
