Died September 27 1871, Knoxville TN
Pre-War Profession Mexican War, lawyer, politician
War Service 1861 Capt. of mounted troops, 1861 Col. of 1st Alabama Cavalry, Shiloh, Booneville, Polk's staff, November 1863 Brig. Gen., Atlanta campaign, commanded a mounted brigade in Alabama, Bluff Spring FL (w,c).
Post War Career Lawyer.
Notes Assassinated by a drunken ex-federal officer.
