Pre-War Profession Lawyer, politician.
War Service April 1861 Capt. in 8th Massachusetts, July 1861 Col. of 10th Massachusetts, Peninsula campaign, Seven Pines (w), July 1862 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded draft depots.
Post War Career State auditor, judge, customs appraiser.
