Born September 3 1825, Coshocton OH
Died April 19 1892, Beaufort SC
Pre-War Profession Graduated West Point 1847, recruiting duty, frontier duty, staff duty.
War Service August 1861 Maj. and chief of commissary to McClellan in Western Virginia campaign, September 1861 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded 2nd Bde/2nd Divn/II Corps in Peninsula campaign (w), commanded 1st Divn/IX Corps at Fredericksburg, resigned volunteer commission March 1863, reverted to rank of staff major, chief commissary in the Dept. of the Northwest.
Brevet Promotions Brig. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865.
Post War Career Army service in the commissary department, retired 1889.
