Default What if John Brown ...

... had taken up stamp collecting instead? Would we have fewer threads?

Same amount of threads, just a whole new meaning to the term "going postal".

(Sorry, I just couldn't leave this thread sitting here with no replies.)
It is a classical maxim that it is sweet and becoming to die for one's country; but whoever has seen the horrors of a battlefield feels that it is far sweeter to live for it. - John Singleton Mosby

John Brown, only exacerbated an already deteriorating situation. He was neither the cause of slavery nor the inventor or secession.
The Kansas-Nebraska Bill, was the spark to the powder train. If there had been no John Brown, it would have been somebody else.
