I found this particular site today and thought everyone might enjoy it. It is a very interesting book (in my mind anyways) and to me, a good insight on the ladies place during the Civil War.

I found some very intersting things in this book. Such as how they were to keep their home properly ventilated. It also gives a table as to which they were to pay their help!

Thanks for sharing this. Very interesting and very cool . Some of the recipes are great. It would be amazing to see what these folks could do with modern kitchen equipment.
I plan to exercise more diligence when choosing my footmen from now on.
