    Default Tips for New Editors

    To Make Text Bold: '''Sample Text''' -> Sample Text

    To Make Text Italics: ''Sample Text'' -> Sample Text

    All pages in the Wiki are linked by the Title of the Article, so to link one article to another you can (like an article about Robert E. Lee) you can type: [[Robert E. Lee]]

    One quick warning, Titles of articles should contain minimal punctuation, or none at all when possible. Single and double quotes will not work in titles at all.

    When you are finished making edits you can preview or save your work. However, if you preview your work, be careful not to click the back button, or you may loose your changes (like clicking an "undo" button), better to click save, and then edit the document again.

    Don't be afraid to save, check your work, and then make adjustments. It's not uncommon for me to make a dozen or more separate edits before I'm happy with the layout or content of a new document.

    Just above the "Save" button is a "Summary:" line, you can ignore this line if you are creating a new document and editing it, but if you are editing an old document, making changes, or adding new content to an existing document, it's a good idea to list the reasons for the changes so we all know what you are doing. (comments like: "New Section A Added", "Corrected Facts in Section A" or "Fixed Grammar in Section A" are fine!)

    I've also created a cheatsheet that will help:

    One Update:

    If you see the following tag in a template:

    <!-- Sample Text -->

    That's Hidden Text! I've used it in the template to show where I certain types of text should be inserted.

    Either erase these lines, or ignore them, but don't put your work between these lines unless you intend to hide it on the working page!
