    26- Isaac Munroe St John, after successsfully running the Confederate mining and Nitre bureau, took over the Commisary general from the much hated Northtop, and was promoted to brigadier general to boot. there is universal consensus that this change in command brought about much needed improvement in feeding the armies, but was a case of too little too late;

    27- Protecting Hatteras Inlet were Confederate Fts Hatteras & Clark;

    28- Col Beall commanded the CSA Marine Corps;

    29- Theodore Roosevelt, even at six yrs of age, a great admirer of President Lincoln, watched his funeral cortege the afternoon of Tuesday 25th of April, '65, as it approached Union Square;

    30- Pickett's friend, Lt James Longstreet, handed him the flag when he was hit by fire. Brandishing the flag, Lt Pickett went with the soldiers over the parapet and into the castle- a prominent American victory.
    'It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag'

    Congratulations to SamGrant and bgl1952, winners of the First and Second Divisions, respectively, for Game # 38, both with perfect scores of 36 points.

    Three huzzahs to both, and a special tiger to bgl1952 for achieving a perfect score as a first-time player. One more such effort and you'll be in the First Division before you know it.

    The answers to the questions for Week 6:

    26. St. John succeeded to the position of Commissary General. (Sorry, but I didn't feel "Commissary Bureau" or "Commissary of the War Department" referred to a specific position.)

    27. Forts Hatteras and Clark guarded Hatteras Inlet.

    28. Beall was Colonel-Commandant of the CS Marine Corps.

    29. Six-year-old Theodore Roosevelt observed Lincoln's funeral procession.

    30. James Longstreet handed the flag to Pickett at Chapultepec.

    The final scores for Game # 38:

    FIRST DIVISION

    SamGrant 36

    SECOND DIVISION

    bgl1952 36
