Went through Hagerstown and spoke with the cops there. One fellow knew some history but couldn't help me with the trivia.

I recall reading how the Confederates were marching through and how Hager's daughter heckled them from the 2nd story of their store/house. A Confederate cried out, "Hager's Road, Hagerstown, Hager's store, Hager's daugther. Hurrah!"
