Ancestors does any one here have any info about the last name "estey" any any civil war regiments i kno my dads side came from the north and i had ancestors who fought in the french and indian was and the rev. war if u have any info plz tell me! thanks! cadet garrett estey 11th texas calvary (civil war reenactor unit)

Did a search and it showed 55 Esteys listed, 52 Union and 3 Confederate. Check it here:

Before you start any search into your ancestry's civil war experience, you have to know a name or two and where they were living when the war broke out. It all starts with the enlistment. From there, it's traceable.

My goodness! I must have "My Name Is Earl" on the mind but that general sure looks like one of Jason Lee's ancestors.
