The last time I was at Gettysburg (summer, 1998), I was driving the auto tour near
Spangler's Spring/Culp's Hill area, and came upon this one road which was not on the
tour. I saw what seemed like a Park Service vehicle come out of this area on that
same road, so I decided to take a peak. There were many monuments in the area,
and I even found one which was the Cincinnati Regiment monument (I'm from Cinti).
I don't know why this area is not on the tour. No more park personnel came down
there, and I wasn't run out by anyone. The next time any of you get to G'burg,
you'll access this road by passing Spanglers heading toward Culps, the unmarked road
is on the left. Check it out. Chuck.
