Default Florida Reenacting units??????????????

Are there any Duel Impression units in Florida near Orlando that have a quality standard of authenticy? I have looked at some of the units around and I don’t see very much authenticy.

From what I have noticed, the F.A.R.Ther you get from Virginia the less authenticity I have seen. I'm having the same problem in Oklahoma. Great bunch of guys but I consider myself pretty hardcore and these guys are pretty ***** at times!! My advice is fall in with what you can and have fun. As long as you feel good about your impression you can still have a great time. And who knows, you might inspire a higher level of authenticity among the ranks

In my unit I am often pointed out in this manner;

"That's Ray over there, the one who looks like he just stepped out of 1862!" I think the sideburns help out alot with that

I would say go ask the same question over on the Authentic Campaigner or form your own mess, from what I know of Florida you might just have to do that.

IIRC there used to be an Authentic mess up Jacksonville way but I don't know if they're even around anymore.

Good Luck and let us know what you find.

Dred, I don't think it's a matter of getting further from Virginia but finding the groups who want to do more than just play. I only do Living History anymore; I'm just not interested in powder burning.
