Default Any Zouave reenactors here?

Does anyone on the list reenact a Zouave impression?

I've also felt that they were the most colorful ACW infantry impression anyone could portray.

Look at my name, Capt... Yes indeedy, member of the 76th Pennsylvania, the Keystone Zouaves. We wear trendy blue britches.

We're also known for our guts and grit... We once crept through the woods, overran a Confederate battery, and turned the guns on the Confederates themselves. You shoulda seen their faces!!

Default The name's a dead giveaway!

Aye, Blue Zouave, the name's a dead giveaway!

What sort of equipment does your unit carry?

Pennsylvania's my home state, by the way. But I'm a Confederate by choice.

A Copperhead, eh???

Our company of the 76th is based out of Washington state and the rules are pretty lax. We all carry 3 band muskets for safety reasons, but there's a mix of Springfields and Enfields. Otherwise, your regular Union issue. Here's the website of my group:

I'm not in any of the pictures, must have been out engaged in hijinx when those were taken!!

Default Great site!

Great site, thanks, BZ!

Not really a Copperhead since I live in Louisiana now. Some here have called me a carperbagger, or a hemorrhoid, or a snow bird!

Captain,

I have recently been invited to participate in an upcoming event with the 54th Ohio Infantry, Ohio's only Civil War Zouave unit.

They are going to provide the tri-corner hats, special jacket and white spats so that I may fully look the part. Looking forward to getting some pictures of me in THAT outfit.

Sincerely,
Unionblue

Be sure to post the pictures, Union Blue!

Tricorns? I always associated the fez with the Zouaves?
