Hi ,

Miss Markie , Have you ever tried to join a re-enactment group as their living Historian ? I joined a group as their living historian and i can really say that i have learned alot from them , and them from me . If you have a chance you might consider joining them . You would be a great addition to any group .

Personally i always prefered fireing pairs for my skirmishers as this pic shows, advancing in ranks. This is my Zouaves at Burton Ohio btw

Default Its alive......Its Alive!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shane;I have pondered over this thread and have decided to throw another reply to it.

The confederate line was correct....groups of four; two in front, two in back. Upon firing 1st row reloads while 2nd advances 5 yards and then fires. This was done correct.

The main problem here was the setting. I looked at your picture( I must say was very impressed)and see quite a difference. The rebs at OBV only had about 2 acres maybe for their demonstration. Your picture shows 50 acres plus. There were spectators that took away the authenticity at OBV. I saw not one spectator at your picture. There were maybe 20 rebs in the skirmish line at OBV. Your picture depicts 100 if that.

Shane;I can tell from your threads you have a great passion for reenacting. You want the facts shown correctly and authenticated as best as can be.I admire you and everyone here on these threads. Don't stop!!!!

Maybe one day I will come out your way and see the Western Theater in action.
