Question One man's religion is another man's belly laugh...

This is indeed a most bizare idea. It sure is lucky that your unit is a horseless cavalry unit I suppose.

Light powder loads or not, as one person I shared this with said: I hope they keep in mind the recent manslaughter convictions related to a fire in a New Jersey Night club not too long ago. I'd hate to see a news report about reenactors killing a congregation on the 4th of July.

Question How'd it go?

So I'm curios how the battle in the church went. How many babys started crying? How many old people suffered respitory problems? ;-)

Any pictures?

We most certainly require a report on this event. Front and center, Garrett!

Default cool

I find it interesting. But you really don't need powder to make this work. just shooting caps would make it much safer. but hey its over so how did it work.

Default Battle Report for 4th of July Celebration in 2nd Baptist Church!!!

It was great!!!!

This Church was HUGE!!! It was the 2nd Baptist Church in Houston having its annual 4th of July celebration. The actress/singer that played Ariel in the Little Mermaid was there singing!! And they had this place decorated right nice! Very partiotic. Thousands of citizens and vererans alike celebrated!. (Tom Delay was even there!!) They has a 200+ chior singing old patriotic music. We had Confederates and 6 yankees each with one flag bearer and a officer. On our que we came down from oppostite sides of the church and stood 50 yards from each other on rises next to the choir. And then the Choir and band began to play the whole of "The Battle Hymm of the Republic" that was our que to start firing 40 grain loads at each other. We all fired 3 shots each. And then marched a flight of starirs 30 yards down! To the center stage of the church!!!!!! Where we all lined opposite of each other and brought our rifles to the ready glaring at each other. Then a man protraying Abe Lincoln came up and recited the Gettysburg Address. (I was shaking) after that he turned to us and brought his hand up and we all brought our weapons to order arms and he made the officers shake hands and held them togerther to show the country rebuilt!!!

It was a wonderful event and we asvertised reenacting to thousands of people in Houston!!!

Garrett, it sounds like it was a well-organized, choreographed event. I'm thinking you all probably rehearsed it a couple of times. Wish I could have seen it myself, especially the end where the enemies shook hands with each other. Your detailed description allowed me to picture it pretty well in my mind's eye. Thanks for updating us on that.
