Default Gettysburg

Ok this will be my frist time there so give me some information on what not to miss out on. I'm just going as a guest to watch the reenactment not to do any reenacting at this one. But will be there in my Grays the next year. Can't wait for July to get here.

Default G'Burg Visit

Civilwarguns,

Drop me a line when you are planning a visit and I will arrange for one of our "Surly Unauthorized Battlefield Tours".

The reenactments are held on farms on the outskirts of town, not on the actual battlefield. The NPS doesn't want reenactors getting carried away and knocking over any rail fences or stone walls in their zeal to recreate the enthusiasm of the original charge.

If you go to a reenactment, best plan to hang around for a while afterward. If you try to leave immediately after the conclusion of the event, you will be stuck in some ungodly traffic and you will be stuck in it for quite a long while.
