Thumbs up How the crockett heritage days went

you told me to tell you about the crockett heritage days im 15 and the battles seem to be the major hit for me. Well their were about 400 reenactors and about 700 tourists (a smaller reenactment then usual) I arrived there at 1:30 am and finally got to bed at 3:30 am. In the morning i was able to meet Abe Lincoln and told him that i saw John Wilkes Booth and he answered "son you know your about the 14th person who has told me that" and we both had a laugh or 2. Then bye 2:00 pm the 11th texas dismounted cav had roll call and weapon inspection a total of 8 men were in our company as we marched to give the yankee's hell. we were supposed to lose on saturday and we had decided to make a last stand around the colors. which was alright but i was using a hawkins which misfired every other shot so i took a hit when the yankees let loose a volley. Sunday battle was a lot betteri got to use a infield and we were advancing on the cannons and then the cannon crew charged with their pieces and we fired a volley and brought them all down. but there was still 2 stubborn yankees trying to hold the cannon with psitols and one of them was a redlegs!! So we charged screaming the rebal yell and set our colors on the cannon. but the battle wasnt over so we moved out on the federals who were making a last stand and we charged again but it was my best friend and a sergant the rest had stopped to rest and the yankee's fired on us 3 and the sergant flew forward with a yankee bullett in his heart and if it wasnt for the confederate infantry on our right i think i would have taken a hit for the crowds sake. But in the end the armies of the CSA were victorious!!!!! HUZZAA!!

after the battle our officer in command told us to strike the tent and we went home.

over all the reenactment was pretty good!
