Question Reenacting Pants

I just came back from a reenactment this past weekend and i decied i needed a new pair of reenacting pants. But! im a little short on cash so i asked a fellow reenactor what to do and he said take a regular pair of pants and cut the loops and back pockets and size thing on back and there you go is this peroid correct or what!

NOOOOO that is NOT THE RIGHT THING TO DO! It is NOT PERIOD CORRECT.

The right thing to do is to save your greenbacks until you have enough for a proper pair of trousers to encase your Rebel hide in. Have your progressive pards recommend a good sutler to you.

The best thing to do is to become a Zouave, you will not believe the freedom of movement the baggy pants afford.

Ouch... $60 odd is what a decent pair of trousers run... Jeans... no please no so not even close as to be funny. Thats almost as bad as wearing gray sweat pants.
