Scone,
I just came back from Virginia, Front Royal, to be exact, and that's not far from Middletown. I've been to that reenactment 5 times in the last 10 years, and I've loved every minute of it. I was so close to joining the 7th Tenn about 10 years ago, but I lived in Montana at that time, and as much as I wanted to, it was just not quite in the cards to do so then.

I talked with a couple of fellows who were in the movie Gettysburg. One was the 'older' guy, with the beard, and no speaking part, standing in the middle of the three Confederate prisoners, who were being 'interviewed' by J. Chamberlins young brother. They were really a nice bunch, and I wish I could have become part of them. I am very familier with all of the area, and I still have friends that live just outside of Woodstock, Va.

The Belle Grove plantation is still there and in very good shape, plus, the Union army had it's encampment practically in it's front yard. It's a great place to visit, and it's really a teriffic reenactment...............even if we did lose the battle. Oh well, there's always this year, and this could be the year that we finally whip those Yankee's butts!

Thank you for the information..

Amazing fact is that the orginal 7th Tennessee was mustered in just down the road from me in Lebanon, Tennessee. And General Robert H. Hatton statue stand in the middle of the town square. And is buried in the city Cemetery..

regards, Steven
