Whatever floats the bodies... there will be plenty of ground to hold onto in case you're afraid of falling up. But please no obnoxious drunks... If I have to behave so does everybody else. Don't get us riled, we wouldn't want to have to fix bayonets and make smores.

The husband and I will be hitting the road tomorrow morning so I'll be out of contact with you all until Friday afternoon. I will bring some handknitted wool socks. That's about the biggest period-type item I can get into our car. Looking forward to this event!

Wow, wine and cigars; and I have to start a new job that very same week. Ah well, I'm sure there will be other opportunities to meet yous all. Have fun and puff a stogie for me, inso, hey?

Sockknitter:

I had looked forward to meeting you in Iowa this weekend but it has been a comedy of errors these last several weeks, and more recently Jesse has managed to develop a hoof abscess and will be stall bound for the next week or two - my main purpose in travelling to Iowa was to introduce Jesse to re-enactment events. I was also hoping to see you in action with your socks, and to hear your personal accounts of life in Texas (we could have painted ourselves an imaginary cattle drive!) along with meeting Steven, Neil, Shane and Ole, but it looks as if I will have to track you all down at another re-enactment this summer.

I'm sure that it will be a wonderful event, and my wine and cigars are dutifully waiting until next time. Safe journey everyone and please take loads of pictures. :-)

Dawna
