Friends,

Instead of the usual battle reenactment photos, I thought you might like to get a glimpse of ol' Unionblue when he hits the dance floor during the big ball at Guyandotte, Western Virginia.

As you all know from viewing my avatar on this board, I am a handsome devil who cannot help but attract some of the most beautiful dance partners this side of the Ohio river. As proven below in the attached picture.

And just before ya 'all start laughing too hard,

My partner in life and crime experienced the same problem in getting a dance partner at times. Instead of being upset, she just made the best of a bad situation.

My wife, Sue, who would be affectionate to anyone and to anything that gave her an iota of attention!

hehe Steve, it's easy stand there like a tree and let her do all the work. or of coarse you could be like my persona... not likely to be invited to the dance in the first place! At least you don't have to buy the broom a drink or hold out the chair for her, heck she can even prop open a door on her own.

Neil, wonderful photos, thanks for sharing them.

Default Franklin Picture

The photo was taken two years ago by me looking south west from the west side of the Carter House.

The white dot in middle on the horizon is a lamp post on the pathway to the vistor center amn museum which would be on the right out of the Photo..

Photo was taken after the Anv. of the Battle. The Photo just puts chills down mine spine looking at the blood red sky in the background.

May we never forget those that fought & died there or the one who lived to tell the tale of that horrible battle.

Regards, Steven

"The carnage and destruction was so dreadful that the sun, as if loath
to longer gaze on this terrific scene, slowly sunk behind the western horizon and hid from view his smiling face; but the stars, more pitying, came forth to keep vigil o'er the silent and sleeping dead."
-- John M. Copley "A Sketch of the Battle of Franklin, Tenn."

Default Photos from the 140th franklin event

By far this is the best photo of myself in uniform. Removed the color and darkening it look almost 140 years old . Sun makes my beard look white .. while i do have some gray its not that light. Will be posting more photos from the event.
