Amen!

Besides, chairs (and tent poles) are a major pain to tie to a saddle. ;-)

So you think the war in the East was tough, do you? Ever consider what it would mean to be captured by Apache?

Hot dang, Garret! I'm going out now to get me a uniform like yours. I've always heard that girls are attracted to a man in uniform, but I had no idea!

Garret,

I can see why you are so 'devoted' to the Rebel cause. Almost, you persaudeth me to be a rebel (if I could attract a girl like that in gray!).

Sincerely, (and with much jealously)

Scone,

So why couldn't he offer his lap and remain authentic by not having a canvas chair?

Missed opportunity, I would say.

But then, love is wasted on the young. It's us experienced, dirty old men who see ALL the missed opportunities of our own youth.

Sincerely,
Unionblue

"I have lusted in my heart." Jimmy Carter. I'm just now beginning to understand that man.

Garrett, I hope you're sharing some of this creepy old f**t lusting with the hottie. She might get a kick out of it. Or better still a rush of overwhelming emo....... Nevermind.

Ummm Ole... or she might just go get a big club and start wailing. Texas girls have a tendency to do that.

It does indeed. The poor quality of history education even helps in that many Southern girls can't tell that the blue signifies Yankee. (If the issue does come up, just tell them your portraying a cavalryman fighting comanches.) A fellow in a clean full dress Union cavalry uniform presents quite a dashing figure (especially with pre-war dark blue trousers) and the blue matches my eyes so much better than gray or butternut. ;-)

Then there is also the fact that horses always seem to attract the right kind of women. It might well be the smell, but experience seems to indicate otherwise.
