Gerald, welcome to the group! A few more of you blue coats will help to even things up. (some of the others think they're winning, but don't tell 'em.) Anyone from Maine, home of Edward Hatch, is alright with me. I'm the gg grandson of one of Gen. Hatch's farriors, Corp. James Patterson Cockerham of the 10th TN US Cavalry.

Default Athens, MO 2005

This was our ad-hoc company at Athens, MO, which was a short conflict between Missouri State Guard (Southern Partisans) and Missouri Home Guard (Union sympathizers). I'm front & center with the shotgun. This little reenactment brought people from Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska. I was with the Scotland County State Guard, Company C.

And this is me, taking a rest in front of the Colonel's tent on his chair. My "home" was a little more humble, consisting of a painted cloth and a blanket.

Default One more . ..

Missouri State Guard notwithstandin, my usual impression is Western Fed. This one was taken in 2001 in the restored barracks at Ft. Larned, KS. We spent a weekend living on the fort site, slept in the reproduction bunks (covered with Thomas and Gaede blankets, by the way), drilled, did fatigue duty, cooked in the restored kitchen on the original wood stove. The gear hangin on the wall is high-quality reproduction, from some of the premier makers in the business. The place looks like the whole regiment just walked out yesterday.

Jeffdavislegion & RebAl,

Thanks for the great photos, excellent looking with much attention to authentic detail. Best looking early war and mid war Rebs I have seen in a LONG time.

Sincerely,
Unionblue
