Hardtack61,

What an excellent picture of a young, Confederate officer, ready to do his duty for his country! Great job and great look! Were you by any chance in the movie Antietam for the US Park Service? And what episode of the History Channel did you appear in? Wonderful impression and you can tell by your picture you have worked very hard to be as authentic and accurate as possible in your portrayal.

Ray,

You sir, have an excellent looking unit in your 54th Ohio group. I offer my heart-felt congradualtions on such a bully-looking outfit.

But, the boys I know are the ones your refer to, the 91st Ohio who do a part-time 54th OVI impression with the tri-cornered hats. You know them?

Thanks Ray for the info. I am always facinated by the Zouaves. They are a crazy lot, but have the most interesting uniforms. I know of a group of the Tiger Rifles out of Iowa. Good bunch of eggs, and crazy as can be.

Thanks again,
Jenna

To All,

I have seen pictures posted on this thread that somehow get around the size requirements that I know about.

How DOES one post/attach/place a photo or picture within the post on this thread here without the size of the attached photo being an issue?

And please, use very small words, as I am a computer dinosaur!

Thanks,
Unionblue

Talk to Shane. I have no idea how he does it. I have tried and tried to get pics posted, heck I've even tried cutting and pasting things in with no luck. I haven't been on the chat room in a while (gee can't imagine why? Maybe cause of that little guy I have now?) but I still can't a hang of some of the stuff on this new board lay out. So yes, if anyone has any suggestions as to what to do to get pics on here, so I can quit sending them to Shane to down size and post for me, that would be great!! Heck I just now figured out how to put the faces back in!! So don't feel bad Neil. I'm right there with ya and I'm younger then you (not to brag of course!)

THe quick and easy way is to use the "Paint" program and the resize option. I often crop down the picture as well... but I agree it is a pain sometimes to shrink a pic down to a small enough size to post w/out losing too much detail.

What drives me to the point of distraction is Norton Antivirus sometimes decides that any popup window is verbotten... I do my little dance, beg the computer gods to favor me w/ success, jump up and down on one leg while chanting "At least this isn't a Mac" and then profusely beg my computer to do what I want it to. Frequently, I just scream "SMEG!!!!" and go back to my good old fashioned books and read about the Civil War and simpler times. Of coarse then I am treated to the wife, daughter and cats looking at me like... "Crazy Human!" Don't worry Jenna, I plan to get to your pics later tonight.

I have found that if you copy and paste a photo frm a website you can make the picture larger than a attached photo..
