Dear Lagoonalight;

Welcome to the Civil War Talk Forums.

Hopefully, we will see your posts in the near future.

Please do take your time and post at your own pace. And, if you have references with your posts, it will be appreciated. It is good to be reading from the same reference as to respond to in kind.

If you see **** in the posts, please know it is the software program catching 'naughty words.' And, though it doesn't make sense for fur-ther to be caught--it is often caught. Just return to your original post, hit the edit button and insert a cleverly placed hyphen as to break up the spelling enough for the naughty word catcher to by pass. General C-ummings name gets caught also. So; please know it is beyond moderator's control and we're not picking on anybody.

Enjoy--and welcome.

Respectfully submitted,
M. E. Wolf

Welcome to the board Lagoonalight. I am curious as to your username and avatar. Can you enlighten me on those? Thanks.

Respectfully,
Leland

Thanks for the welcome guys, gals, or whatever, I am a writer and reader with deep interest in the human condition and history in general and that has led me here.

Looking to learn a lot more before I have my book published. Of course I am only writing a poem or two on the CW but I want accuracy and a good representation of both sides. I am picking antietam as one battle just for its ferocity and maybe two to three others, including one poem more about humor and the food of the CW, one of my main interests.

Sadly, I have many subjects to study and the CW is only one aspect, but knowledge and the understanding of war can help not only me but everyone else involved. If our nation better understood politics which inevitably follow and precede wars we would be in a better place.

As for my avatar that would be the unicursal hexagram. You can google more if you'd like to or here is a short explanation:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicursal_Hexagram

My name is simply lagoonal and light combined to make a word I thought best described my personality. Thanks.
