Default Greetings!

I have just found this site and am amazed that I didn't hear of it before.
I am currently in the 14th Virginia Cavalry. I also am using a Smith Carbine as we galvanize as the 2nd U.S. Cavalry.
Has anyone used the swaged bullets and brass cases from Dixie for live fire or hunting?

Dear Richard Callesto,

Welcome to Civil War Talk Forums.

Glad you can join us. Right now there are topics in the General Discussion - History Forums of weapons of all kinds. We have many weapons experts on this forum and grows with wonderful people to add to this forum.

As for your question about hunting with your weapon- that has been a recent topic in the General Discussion-Campfire Thread. Just because its a few days old, doesn't mean you can't add to it and bring it to the front again.

I do want to say, that should you see ***** in your post, it is most likely the naughty word catcher. If you know the word is innocent; you need to return to your post to edit it--and use hypens to cleverly respell the word. For some reason fu-rther is one of those words caught in the naughty net. LOL I can understand General Cu-mmings but--anyway; its the software and not the moderators picking on you.

Please don't feel pushed into making posts--there are no quotas here.
Take your time and enjoy your experience here.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
M. E. Wolf

Hi Richard. Glad to have you on the boards with us. I'm afraid the answer to your question is beyond my area of expertise, but I'm sure there are some fellows here who can help you with that.

Echoing the welcomes. As to the question, I haven't the foggiest, but we are lucky to have several weapons experts -- at least one of whom will be posting an answer before Monday.

And then there's me. I'm an expert on nothing, though I do have a warm southern heart with northern leanings. If it's guns and bullets you want, there are a cluster of those folks in our midst who welcome you to our ranks. Pull up and sit a spell...

Welcome Richard. Swaged bullets? That's advanced. I've casted some, but never got into swaging because of the expense.
