I'm new here. In addition to Civil War topics, my interests are hunting, fishing, metal detecting and vegetable gardening. I hope to someday use my detector to find a bullet fired during the Civil War and be the first person to hold it in my hand since the one who originally loaded it into a gun.
I live in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, which was named in honor of General Grant's win at Vicksburg.

There is a topic discussion in the General Campfire Forums about 'hunt'n.'
So, there are a few hunters for sure to befriend.
Feel free to explore the forums and all that there is to experience. Please feel that there is no pressure or rush to post. It is better to post when you are ready and not meeting some quota. Quality over numbers.
History is a race between education and catastrophe - H. G. Wells
Future years will never know the seething hell and the black infernal background, the countless minor scenes and interiors of the secession war; and it is best they should not. The real war will never get into the books - Walt Whitman
Looking forward to seeing you on the board and learning from you.
Sincerely,
Unionblue

Am personally glad to see two back to back badgers sign on. There's something IRON about Wisconsin men.
