I've been a lurker for quite a while and wanted to jump into the fray here finally. Username is "Bound for Glory" which, to me, seems appropriate for a soldier from either side who was brave enough to step forward in formation (or run forward like a banshee) and proceed to the trenches where the enemy was waiting. I admire them immensely for their sacrifice, whether their cause be deemed "right" or "wrong". Bravery is what it is.
My name is Leland, and I live in Kentucky. Very glad to be here, and my condolences also to the family and friends of Bill Torrens, whose love and passion for his beloved Southland never wavered. I used to read his posts when he was well enough to type. Thanks for your time everyone.

Welcome aboard. We are glad you have decided to "step into the light" from lurker to participant.

Welcome to Civil War Talk. I am sure you will find it easy to find the forums of your choosing and enjoy the discussions.
Please feel free to post at your own pace; as there is no quota system here.
If you see a series of **** in your post; it may be that the naughty word catcher has targeted it. Even innocent words often get caught in the net; so you may have to look at your post and cleverly add hyphens as to break up the spelling; as to make it 'clear' as to what word is missing.
It seems like [fu-rt-her] is one of those words caught in the net of naughty words; just as [sc-rew] in talking about naval ships is a proper term and not a naughty word.
Moderators cannot fix this situation; as it is more of a software situation. So, please know that moderators aren't picking on you for your post's content.
Just some thoughts.
Respectfully submitted for consideration,
M. E. Wolf
Thanks M.E. and timewalker. You were not mods the last time I visited the board, so knowing only a little about you both from reading your previous posts in my lurking days I think Ami made the correct choice for us the board. That Ole guy though....I don't know. I thought Johan was bailing but very glad to see he's still a mod.
And thanks for the heads-up on the auto-sensor glitches. Maybe you could inform me as to these new icons (4 of them) at the bottom when you get a chance? Thanks.

And I am glad you got to know Bill. A great friend and fellow board member who brought much to this forum.
Glad to have you onboard.
Sincerely,

The four icons are a way to link the post to one of the four social networking sites to which the icons correspond. I must admit that even though I am considered something of a techno-geek by my friends (I built the computer I use from spare parts) I have never gotten into the social networking websites, so that's about all I can tell you.
