Default Another Texan

Glad to be aboard. Hope to learn a lot more about the units and battles that my ancestors fought in during the Civil War. I'm especially interested in Fort Donalson, the Red River Campaign, the 26th Miss Inf Regt and the 3d Regt Arizona Bde.

Hello, DHP, and welcome to CivilWarTalk.

I don't know a great deal about the western theatre, but I'm sure you can find others here that can discuss it with you.

Like yourself, I also enjoy reading about Fort Donelsohn and the Red River. The former's sigificance is that its loss compel Albert Sydney Johnston to abandon Bowling Green, KY. Concerning the latter, Red River, read Dick Taylor's book for some interesting comments.

Thanks. I'll have to get my hands on his book.
