Just wanted to say hello! I'm originally from Pittsburgh, PA, but I now live in Toronto, Ontario (married my Canadian hubby).
My interest in the Civil War is pretty new, and I've been keeping myself busy by reading Shelby Foote's 3 volume set, The Civil War (companion book to the PBS series) and I just got the Oxford Civil War Atlas (I know there are errors in that volume, but it was the only one I could find around my area). My wish list purchase is The Military Atlas of the Civil War (no Barnes and Nobles in Canada, so I'm going to ebay that one for my birthday).
I'm going to Gettysburg in September and I'm super excited about that.
I've was up surfing this board until 4:30 am last night (thanks Keeno, lol). Good stuff on these forums

By Gawd, I got a proposition for you pardner. I think I got that atlas and its just takin' up space. I'll sell that thing to you and donate the proceeds to the upkeep of this here site. How'd that be? Are you willing to send some money to the folks who drive Civil War Talk dot Com and cover the cost of shipping from my place to your's?
What'll you give me for it?

When you get a look at how big this book is ole, you're gonna think twice. It's big and thick and heavy too. I don't know what it'll cost to ship it to Canada.
I have the book. I know how big and heavy it is. It's gonna cost upwards of $10 to ship it to Canada. You make the arrangements with Laz and I will reimburse you your cost and drop another $20 on the webmaster. If you'd rather, I have a couple of duplicate books I will send you: "Nothing but Victory" by Woodorth in paperback and "Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation" by Allen Guelzo. Your choice.

Da*n fine noble of you Ole and Blue.Raider88. Welcome to the board Laz. That Civil War Atlas is a good book to leave open when you're reading some campaign and need to follow troop movements.
Oh my gosh...Im just flat out stunned. You all are too nice on here.
What do you think the book is worth in the condition you have it? I have no problem offering you a fair U.S. price for it.
But I think I would have to send you an international money order for it. Would that be ok?
Keeno, that is so very nice of you to offer to pay my shipping. I don't even know what to say to that! I can't let you do that- I'd feel guilty-but I'm touched by your kindness.
You can buy it used on Barnes and Noble for $26.95. I'll settle for $25.00. Send the money to whomever ole wants you to send it too. As soon as they confirm receipt, I'll ship the book to you. ole can donate his money for shipping to the site if he wants to, I'll cover the cost of shipping to you myownself.
Welcome to the board. You should try The West Point Atlas of American Wars. The maps are first rate and go in chronological order. How about those Penguins and Crosby!
