Default Hello from New England!

Let me introduce myself.....My name is Tammy, I'm 44 years young and I'm from Connecticut although someday I would like to say that I'm from Gettysburg, Pa.!
I'm absolutely obsessed with the place!! My husband and I had always wanted to visit and when we finally did in 2002, the bug bit and bit hard! We try to go 4-5 times a year, but that's still not even close to being enough for me!
I love to photograph Gettysburg, my favorite personalities are Jennie Wade and General John Fulton Reynolds, I collect vintage Gettysburg souvenirs-especially Jennie Wade items and I love collecting old Gettysburg postcards.
Our other hobbies are: paranormal investigating, metal detecting (nope...NEVER on the battlefield!!!), visiting other CW battlefields, going on day-trips, gardening.

We've been married 23 years (married young) and we have 3 cats named "Sierra, Gandalf & Radames" and a new 4 month old yellow lab puppy named "Gracie", who will be making her first trip to the 'burg in October.
Our beloved black lab "Kody" who was always with us in Gettysburg, crossed the "Rainbow Bridge" in January of this year after losing an eye and a long, 2 year battle with eye cancer. He loved it there and I hope Gracie loves it there as well.
I am a descendent of a GGGGrandfather and GGGUncle who fought with the 22nd Maine at Port Hudson, La. and am very proud of that!

Well, I guess I've rattled on a bit, but I'm glad to have found this forum and look forward to posting!

Best~

Hello from Old England. Or should that be olde. Interesting to see that you take part in paranormal investigations. An ex girlfriend of mine was heavily into the paranormal, but I'm afraid I didn't take it very seriously. She once took part in a televised event for the series 'Most Haunted', which you may have seen. That was at Chillingham Castle.

Well hello Ye Olde England!

I watch "Most Haunted" every Friday night here in the states, so I most likely have seen her.

I was (well, still am) a very big fan of Princess Diana. I had the priviledge of meeting her in 1992 in New York City. I'll cherish that as long as I live! Am still devastated to this day. I have a purple "D" tattoo on my ankle in memory of her.

Anyway, nice to meet you!

Gettysburg Girl,

Welcome to CivilWarTalk!

I enjoyed reading your intro above and about how much you love Gettysburg itself. I do hope you will realize your dream and be able to call that special place your home one day.

Please, feel free to call upon me if I may be of assistance in your time here.

Your Most Obediant Servant,
Unionblue

Glad to have you with us. It would be nice to make it to the Burg 4-5 times a year. I live down here in TX and my wife and I shoot for a trip about once every two years. Keep posting your photos. I love to photograph CW sites as well. I use a ***** D70 and D80. I'll try to post some as well after my 8 year old son can teach me how to post them!

PS My wife and I are leaving for Vicksburg tomorrow. Same time as Gettysburg just a little more west.

Oh ya, We also have two big goofy black labs. They are sisters from the same litter and have never been separated. Labs have to be the greatest four legged family members.

Hello Gettysburg Girl. What part of CT are you from? I had ancestors from Ellington and Somers (surnames, Sexton and Bartlet) and...welcome to this site. I am sure you will like it enough and visit often.

Hey Mike ~
Vicksburg is one place we haven't visited yet. Have a great time!
And ditto on the labs! They're the best!
