You must have missed the 'Wiener's Circle', just down the block and across the street from my digs.

Cheezy fries. Heresy! Sacrilage! You want cheezy fries? Move to Cincinnati where they combine macaroni with chili. Jeez! You transplants!

Fries are fries. Some make them good. Some suck, big time. The guage of a place is their fries. If they're not up to the mark, chances are their steaks are not that good either. Nor their hamburgers. Run, don't walk, up to Beineke's in Northbrook. There is the ultimate burger. Or Art's in Hillside. Some fine eating there.

I like Moody's in Rogers Park for the blue cheese burger. There is a new place at Erie and Franklin, Hop Haus, that serves exotic burgers like kangaroo, lamb, etc!

I hate cheezy fries unless they are made with real cheese. From Hooters to most restaurants, the cheese ain't real.

I'm with you on that, DJ. Fries may not be polluted with flavoring. Seasoned salt is the most that can be allowed. Cheezy fries? Heresy!

Next time I'm near Roger's Park, I will look up that blue-cheezeburger. Good hamburgers are getting scarce. There's only a handful of places left that make a good one.

Places that serve a pickle with the burger automatically do better than burger joints with no pickles.

If you are ever in Pilsen check out the Skylark at Halsted and Cermack. Not only is the burger great, but they have tater tots! With THREE dipping sauces! TATER TOTS! Now, if someone would just bring back HUSH PUPPIES! MMMMMMMMM
