I'm writing from Oxford, England, though I still see the tiny land of Cornwall as my home.
I've been interested in the American Civil War for a few years now, though I think the seed was planted when I was nine as I vaguely remember a visit to Fort Sumter.
Anyhow, once I've taken the time to take in the vast array of topics here I might start posting, but thought it polite to introduce myself.
Yes indeedy. There is a wide variety of subjects. If you don't see what you like, start a thread. (No guarantee it won't wander off the track.)

Hello Oxkern. It is always a pleasure to have a point of view from across the Atlantic. Sometimes being so close to the events you can have a tendency to overlook a POV.
By the way, do folks on the UK use the word, "Dude"?

I hope you like the traditional Civil War greeting to all new PoWs (and it's still used today in our jails and prisons). Anyhow, a hearty welcome to our cousin from across the pond. You and your brethen are a mite bit late to help the Corn-fed Gubmint but that's O.K., we've still got plenty of material to read without the wa-oh carrying on for a few more years. Glad you found us here and we want you to make yourself at home. Mi casa tu casa.
