Smile Hello from Northern Virginia

Greetings,

New to Civil War Reenacting and having an absolute blast!

Both my Grt Grandfathers served with units out of North Carolina. Elisah was with the 16th NC, but that is all I really know so far. The other was with the 18th NC.

I fall in with the 8th Georgia (most members out of PA) and I'm looking at the Atlantic Guard Soldiers Aide Society. I'm just learning to sew, so I purchased my first FULL period dress, underpinnings, etc from Abraham's Lady in Gettysburg.

I'm planning to attend The Battle of Williamsburg at the Endview Plantation in Newport News this March and considering "At High Tide" in Gettysburg this June. And of course, I'll be present with my unit, The Bloody 8th, at the Annual Gettysburg Civil War Weekend over the 4th of July.

Look forward to being a productive member of this forum. Thanks!

Welcome to CWT Kerri! I'll be at "At High Tide", my first time to Gettysburg. If you do decide to go, I'm sure it's going to be an event to remember!

Welcome again!

Welcome aboard. There is no shortage of historic sites near Williamsburg and even on the Peninsula. Try to visit the Museum of the Confederacy and the Virginia Historical Society if you get a chance. Both are worthwhile visiting. Valentine Museum is near the MoC.

BTW, to find the MoC, find the Medical School on Broad Street and then look for their parking garage. MoC will validate your parking so it won't cost you anything to park there. Stay all day and visit the nearby Valentine Museum (and maybe even Marshall House). You can buy a City Pass for all those sites at the MoC.
