Default Greetings All

I'd say "y'all", but it doesn't fit too well now that I'm out here in the Rockies. Obviously I'm new to the Forum, and very happy to have found a large online community devoted to the Civil War (thanks for the tip, Ole).

I tend to focus my research on the cavalry, primarily the regular regiments since they seldom seem to get any press, but am just as liable to grab an interesting thread and see where it goes as the next person. I look forward to many enlightening discussions as both lurker and participant.

Gary,

I am indeed! I greatly enjoyed my time there, and now enjoy learning more about what preceding generations had been up to.

Any friend of Ole's is probably never going to be able to pronounce y'all correctly. One the other hand, you're probably a top notch person. At any rate, you're among friends and a few better than average civil war buffs. You'll have to guess which ones! Welcome aboard. Any cavalry enthusiast is ok with me.

Hey!

I bring in a superstar and I get this disrespect? Highly recommend that y'all (mispronounced, of course) check out the crossed sabers link.

Ole, after reviewing the web page, I find your assessment of this man to be warranted. Good recruiting! And again, welcome aboard.

Thanks for the welcome! As for y'all, I should be fairly decent at it by now: 2 and a half years in Virginia, 3 years in NC, 5 LONG years in Georgia, 2 in Louisiana and 3 in Kentucky (arguably southern, but sweet tea is readily available so it counts).

Any feedback on the website is always greatly appreciated and considered.

Ole, I had no idea you were so popular here.
