Hi! Im new to the forum thing even though Ive had an interest in the War for Southern Independence since I was a teenager. (Im 46 yrs old) I am a collector, ex-reenactor, and a member of JEB Stuart Camp 1506, SCV. I have ancestors who were in the 2nd Tenn.Cav. Regt., 16th Tenn.Inf., 25th Tenn.Inf., & 28th Tenn.Inf.(CSA,of course!),one of whom was a Captain & Baptist minister. These are on my mothers side of the family with surnames of Bryant,Ford,Walling,Detharidge,Lamb,Walker, & Herd/Hurd. On my fathers side (surname Farmer), I am still researching, but Im sure Ill find many more as they came to Jamestown,Va. in 1616. I would love to hear from anyone with any information on these units or surnames...who knows, maybe Ill even find a long lost relative! My main interest in collecting is dug items, but I do have non-dug also. If youd like to chat, drop me a line,Id be glad to hear from you...even if youre a yankee!(ha! ha!)
Perkasie, eh? I used to live in Bucks County, myself, (I lived in Hulmeville, near Langhorne and Levittown), but now I'm out in Central PA, about 20 miles north of Gettysburg.
Hope you settle in and feel right at home here at CivilWarTalk.
Sincerely,
Unionblue

Welcome to the group, Bob. Join in the conversation. Hmmm. Perkasie. Isn't that near Quakertown? I used to live across the Delaware River from "youse guys."
