Default Hi from a "Fresh Fish."

Just want to check in and say hello to everyone.
I look forward to taking part in the discussions here and hope I can add something to the forum.
I live 8 miles or so from Gettysburg just west of Fairfield. I work at Thomas Publications along Lee's retreat route on the Fairfield Rd just to the east of Fairfield and every other weekend I sell Civil War relics at The Horse Soldier shop in Gettysburg itself.
I reenacted Union and Confederate for 14 years and in 1989 myself and two friends founded the 27th Conn reenactment group which is still up and running. I do not reenact anymore. Too old (45) and too fat!
My leaning is entirely toward the Union side although I respect the Confederates for their determination to their cause.
I was a Marine infantryman for three years (1980-1983) in A Company 1st Battalion 6th Marines 2nd Marine Division. I stayed in some of the best foxholes in Northern Norway and the Pacific and never fired a shot in anger.
I am a Baptist by faith who is saved by God's grace.
Anyway, thats me. I hope to get to know more about you all as we go along.
God bless you all.
Andy De Cusati

Hi Chadutes, Thanks for the encouragement! I am about 100 lbs overweight!! After my wife died back in 2000 I put on quite a bit of weight, came down with diabetees and now wear glasses. I am afraid my reenacting days are done. Maybe when my boys (17 &12 yrs old) are on thier own I'll do some GAR reenacting in parades. That would be more authentic.

Sam, I will check out the Trivia Game. Thanks!

Check out my Connecticut Soldier's CDV collection at www.geocities.com/lilnemo17325 just click on the link at the bottom of the first page.
Cheers to all.
Andy
