Smile hi from Illinios

Hello, my name is Jacob and I am from Illinios. I have been interested in the civil War for about four years now, and I like to go to Civil war reenactments around my area. My favorite general is general John B Gordon.
Thanks, Jacob

Just SW of Rockford, right?

Welcome Illinois!

Check out our Trivia game. (don't tell anyone but I've got some Illinois regiment trivia questions in the pipeline).

Just ordered Gordon's Memoirs, an interesting guy.

Jacob, welcome to the battle, a friendly one for the most part! Please tell us more about the good general as you get the urge.

Hi Jacob and welcome to this webpage/forum. I think you will like this place. There are a lot of very knowledgeable folks that visit this site.
Stillman Valley, eh. I pass through there once or twice a year on my way to Lake Carroll. Site of a Blackhawk War incident; I have stopped at the monument to that event. Do you live close that marker/graves.
Anyways, enjoy your visits here!

Welcome to the board Jacob. Gordon's book, while largely reflective of the reconciliation period, is well worth reading. Long live the Raccoon Roughs!
