My name is Brian, and I live in Madisonville, Louisiana. I’m 27, married, and have one son and one daughter. Ever since I was a kid I have had an interest in the War for Southern Independence, but for the last couple of years I have really dove into its history. I try to read and learn everything I can, and have a particular interest in what occurred in my neck of the woods. I also have the genealogy bug.
I have ancestors who fought in the following units for the Confederacy:
The gentleman in the photo for my avatar is my great-great-great uncle, 1st Lt. Willis W. Bankston of the 9th Battalion, Louisiana Partisan Rangers. This photo was taken in 1917.

Hello, Brian. You've come to the right place for whatever part of the CW interests you. Geneology, reenacting and general cantankerousness abound. Enjoy!

Welcome...
...but fair warning-
If you don't toe the Yankee line be ready for personal attacks, false insinuations, and misrepresentations of your views.
Might I suggest you dive on in and feel the waters for yourself?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Unionblue

Yep, what Cash says and it applies to anything.
Now, welcome to our virtual campsite. We've a log we've been saving for you to sit upon and we're glad you brought some coffee as we're mighty tired of our parched rye substitute. Don't worry, we won't blanket toss you since none of our blankets are new and you'd probably fall right through - then the sergeant will be screaming at us for hurting the fresh fish.
Hello Brian. Several of these folks do have a touch of yank blood and occasionally some strange notions as witnessed from a Southern perspective. They are, above all, polite, curtious and extremely knowledgeable in their own way. I continue to learn much after quite a long time here. Welcome aboard! We are eager to learn from you and are always willing to share our two cents!
