Welcome to the Hoosier State. Don't feel bad about being from Kentucky, after all a Hoosier is a Kentuckyian who just ran out of gas on there way to Michigan. Indy is very rich in civil war History. There were about 8 recruting camps in Indy alone not to mention Camp Morton. Welcome!

A Kentuckian living in Indiana probably lives where he was directed by his Wife? Or perhaps you prefer flatter ground, less traffic and more snow? At any rate, welcome to the civil war!

Hello, Kirok, and welcome to CivilWarTalk.

Did you choose your user name on the basis of an old Star Trek episode?

How-do Kirok. IN is an often overlooked state. Heck, if you are in IL eastbound on I-80 the signs say "East, Toledo, Ohio" never mentioning any IN cities/exits, :-) I am sure you will enjoy this site and look forward to future talks with you.

Why yes I did! That's cool you picked that up! HAHA!

Actually, I was born in KY, but raised in Madison, IN. Yes Larry, I am in Indy because of my wife. I'll get her to move south eventually! Its good for now because the Colts are Champions.

What got me so interested in history was due largely in part to my own family's history, and I wrote a screenplay about John Hunt Morgan years ago... in fact, I'm shooting an independent film in two weeks that's based on Morgan's only child, Johnnie Hunt Morgan. Its kind of a fictional 'Somewhere in Time' type of story... very old fashioned but a sweet and timeless story. You can find out more info about it at my website.

Have a great Palm Sunday!

CHRIS

You wrote: "Its good for now because the Colts are Champions." Enjoy while it lasts. As soon as Pacman gets out of jail, you'll hear from the Titans?

Welcome... try being a midwesterner living in Miss, SC & then AL...

I enjoy the CW memorial in downtown Indy, the museum at the base is great.

Though I prefer Major Kusanagi...

Welcome Chris/Kirok. I hope you go to Conner Prairie for their Civil War Days. You might also want to go to their Arms Making Workshop and it'll teach you some useful gunbuilding skills if you're into the guns of the period or even how to cook over a hearth with a dutch oven. Take advantage of Indianapolis while you're there. Visit their Civil War Museum & their War Memorial.
