Default Glad to find this site

I've been doing a lot of transcription lately of professional videos of oral history in the area of Middle TN. Many of these include or are exclusive to Civil War subjects. Never have been a history buff, but finally discovered how to have it crammed down my throat palatably! Now I'm getting hooked. Pen

What is this project? Sounds fascinating. Many middle-Tennesse afficianadoes on the board. Bet they'll be jumping on it as well.

Oh yes. Welcome.

Default Welcome

A most hearty welcome from a cheesehead who gets his kicks out of running around in the woods in an $800 uniform that was designed 150 years ago; and bruising his shoulder with the recoil of a small cannon (at least I shoot the "small" 58 caliber Springfield and not those awful Austrian 69's. I'm not totally crazy. Welcome and huzzah from the great state (republic?) of Wisconsin

Our splendid regiment is almost destroyed. We have had nearly 400 men killed and wounded in the battles. Seven of our officers were shot and three killed in yesterday's battle and nearly 150 men killed and wounded. All from less than 300 engaged. The men have stood like iron....Maj.
