We took a few days off beginning last weekend and traveled to Franklin, Shiloh, Murfreesboro, Parker's Crossroads and Corinth. Not in that order of course. We are back home now and winding down.
Too bad you missed Vicksburg on the way home.
What did you think of Shiloh?
And Welcome to the Group!

Default Hey der

LadyReb, a big welcome from Wisconsin. I taught at Tulsa Community College for a couple of years. Lived on my sailboat for two years at AppleGate Cove Marina on Kerr Lake near Sallisaw. The home port of my boat is Tamaha. Stand Watie's Indian troops ambushed the Union steamer the J.R. Williams at Catfish Bluff just west of Tamaha. Belle Starr was murdered (some say by her own son) near the Canadien River. Glad to have you on this fine forum.

Seven of our officers were shot and three killed in yesterday's battle and nearly 150 men killed and wounded. All from less than 300 engaged. The men have stood like iron....Maj. How did you tear yourself away from Tulsa? I will never leave.

Default LadyReb

On July 11th, 2002 we left AppleGate Cove Marina. The Starship Vixen (32 foot Morgan sloop) was loaded with supplies. There were four of us...two humans...a Siamese cat...and a blue heeler dog. We sailed down the Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers and spent three years in the Gulf and Tampa Bay. Don't blame you for liking Tulsa...it's a nice town. We also stayed in Disney for a while on Grand Lake. It was nice there, too. The life of sailors.
