Default Hello

Hello,

I wanted to drop by and introduce myself. I've had an interest in the Civil War for quite some time. I focus primarily on the war in the western theater, and am actively seeking information on the following regiments:

6th and 11th GA Cavalry, 11th, 52nd and 65th GA Infantry, and 5th & 7th TN Mounted Infantry Regiments (US). As you can guess, while researching the family tree, I found ancestors in the listed regiments.

I look forward to participating in interesting discussions!

Welcome Rlq1. Good to have you on the board. Your location is shown as being Tennessee. That great state and the battles fought within and near it has been popular on this board of late. Feel free to add anything or bring up something new. It's nice to have a Georgia park ranger on the board, also!

Terry

My warm welcome as well, RLQ1. I suppose you've looked into http://www.loc.gov/rr/main/uscivilwar/ (Library of Congress - Regimental files). They've recently updated the site and are actively promoting it.

Welcome to CWT, RLQ1.

I'm afraid I can't help you with information about any of the regiments you cited, but hope to join you in some of those interesting discussions in the near future.

Welcome to another Volunteer, albeit a Georgia one! These northerners are quick witted, but know a lot about the war. Our side could use some help! I too have ancestors in the family with links to both sides. No matches to your regiments, but we share an army or two. I have 48th VA Inf CSA, 63rd VA Inf CSA, 5th NC Cav CSA, 3rd NC Inf. US, 10th TN Cav US, 13th TN Cav US, 51st GA Inf, 15th AL and 41st TN Inf CSA. Still learning and can assure you that this is a good place to rest. Many knowledgeable folks here!

Hello RLQ1. Sorry, but I don't know anything about those units. My ancestors were the original shirkers.
