Hondo... one of my favorite books by my favorite author. Also loved Flint, Reilly's Luck, Cherokee Trail etc.

Guess maybe we have something in common after all. My teen years were spent reading every book he ever did. I am partial to those Sackett boys, with The Daybreakers being my favorite, followed by To The Far Blue Mountains. I actually still have every novel boxed up in my basement.
