It was kind of fun, but I can see how it would have been much better if the people there would have had concern for authenticity and... ah... Honor.
The Texas unit we were fighting against did not take hits at all. I saw maybe three or four guys on their side go down. That's it. Just three or four. Maybe I went down too early to see them drop, but the ranges we were firing at were rediculous! I mean, come on, not even one hundred feet and these guys acted like we were holding potato guns.
I, being green as grass, became extremely confused when the Rebs just wouldn't die. I kept asking Corpral Steele if I should take a hit, because it looked like everyone was just shrugging off our vollies.
All in all, it was great, but I wanted something more realistic and dramatic. I wanted to feel the moment. I wanted to be transported back in time to the Civil War. Pfft... The drills did that more for me than the lame battle, although burning powder was fun. I hope we fight more honorable people next time (although I'm not sure Rebs know the meaning of the word

).
