Glad to see some old familiar avatars!

Love to read civil war stuff and have been trying to teach myself the history of campaigns and various armies and regiments and such.

Also have an interest in civil war art, music, poetry and photography!
Looking forward to getting to know the board!

Great to see you here, Mary Ann! I'd been wondering when you'd join up. I'm looking forward to "talking" with you again.

P.S. Please don't let my avatar throw you--I really am from Ohio, originally.

Hi CWreader. Welcome to this forum. Like yourself I also enjoy the subject. My own leanings are in favor of accounts written by the soldiers themselves as opposed to those by historians. The latter are useful, but my reading tends to be 2:1 in favor of the soldiers. It took me over 150 books before I even became comfortable but there's so many questions that remain unanswered.
