hello. you know my name and soon you'll know me. i don't, and will never claim to, know all about the war of northern aggression. my knowledge is barely a scratch compared to some of you. my time in the study of this subject goes back roughly 8 years. interest has always been there but, untill 1996, the means hasn't. my views may or may not match nor equal some and vice versa. but my thirst may rival and even surpass some. the fact that i live within an hours drive of places of historical import really helps. here, at brookhaven, ms, col. benjamin grierson passed thru during his raid. bruinsburg, rodney, natchez, jackson, each share a past of andrew jackson as well as the civil war. it,s an honor to me just knowing that the greatest union general of all time set foot here. not to mention steven d. lee, nathan bedford forest, joe johnston, etc.
i hope that we might have a fruitful, fun and enlightening relationship.

Welcome to the boards, Danny,

We are always delighted to have a new member join us here. And it matters not whether you're just a history buff or have degrees in history to us here. We are all of one mind: to learn from one another and have a whole lot of fun while doing it!

It is also interesting that you mention Brookhaven, Ms. as this is where my husband's great grandfather enlisted to serve for the CSA.

Make sure that you sign up for as many of the threads as you're interested in, otherwise you will miss out on many conversations.

Welcome aboard!

Till we meet again, I remain, YMOS,

Hi, Danny, welcome aboard!

If you've been studying for eight years, you probably know as much as or more than a lot of us.

To whom were you referring when you said the greatest Union general of all time once set foot in your neck of the woods?

Danny m'boy,

Welcome aboard and I hope we can learn as much from you as you from us. BTW, you'll learn nothing useful from me as I tend to ask more questions than give answers.

Gary

Danny,

Welcome to the board! Sounds like you have a few opinions and observations you would like to share and discuss. That's great! Just bring along some manners, respect and a healthy sense of humor and you should do fine.

Looking forward to hearing from you and debating you on the late War of the Rebellion!

Sincerely,
Unionblue
