A friend recommended this forum to me and I have been reading some of the post and it looked interesting. I have been fascinated with the study of the Civil War for many years, but still I find that I have barely scratched the surface because it is such an extensive subject. Looking forward to learning more and meeting new people with the same interests.

I want to thank everyone for the nice welcome. I am sure I will enjoy this forum and learn a lot of new things about the Civil War.

By the way, does anyone know that the song "Wild Wood Flower" is supposed to have origins in the Civil War? At least, that is what I have read. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Wow, seems like I found this a little late, but I would still like to welcome you, WildWoodFlower. I'm sure the people here will be able to help you answer your questions.
