Hi:
I'm new.
I had three relatives that serve in the Civil War.
One was killed at Cold Harbor, one died a few years after the war and my Great Grandfather, Sgt. William Braden Schall serve with the 11th Illinois Vol. Cav for three years. He was active in Joseph Hooker GAR Post in Hutchinson Kansas along with my Great Grandmother who was active in the Women Relief Corps.
Myself, my son and my grandson all belong to the Sons of Union veterans of the Civil War. Currently I am the Commander of SUVCW Camp 24 in Castro Valley, CA and the Senior Vice Commander of the Department of California and the Pacific. I also serve on the National Memorials committee and I serve as the Vice president of the Tri Valley Civil War Roundtable. My passion and interest in the Civil War is the only mistress my wife allows. We have 5 children (the youngest being 35) and 12 grandchildren.
Thanks for including me in your group.
Brad

Hey all,
I'm new here. I don't know of any relatives who served in the war, but that doesn't dampen my resolve to research somebody! I've sort of adopted Michael Julian as a substitute anscestor. I've been reenacting with the 1st California for three years, and have just begun reenacting with Company D, North Carolina Infantry.
Nice to meet y'all!
-Kyle
